Why Your Email List Is Powerful

Remember the old saying that: "The money is in the list." If you do not capture emails to your mailing list, I'm sorry, but you are leaving money on the table.

If you still think you should focus much of your time on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Youtube, Pinterest and other sensations of the moment - you will be surprised with this article.

Several studies have shown that email marketing is better than social networks (social media) marketing. Here are some statistics:

  • 92% of users on the Internet have at least one email account.
  • 72% of users check their e-mail inbox 6x or more every day.
  • There are more than 3 billion emails created. (There are 3x more email accounts than all Facebook accounts + Twitter combined!).
  • In relation to commercial use, 75% of users use email compared to only 3% of social networks.

Like the numbers? This is only a small part of what is to come ... I will also show you 3 good softwares for email marketing.

  • What is the best software for Email Marketing.

Email Marketing: Why you need it

Again, if you do not have an email marketing strategy, even if it is at least capturing emails on your site, you are leaving money on the table.

Here are the main reasons why you need to create and grow your mailing list:

  • To promote your blog articles
  • To interact with your readers
  • To achieve better conversions

If you have tried to release a product through social networking and email, I'm sure you've noticed how emails achieve better results.

Summary: Start putting together your emails lists like YESTERDAY!

Social media deserve all the attention they have been receiving, but when we analyze the results and effectiveness, especially commercial communications, email marketing is the big winner.

Social networks are changing as ever.

About 5 years ago, Digg used to receive a lot of traffic. Reaching the front page of Digg was to find the lost treasure on the seven seas. It was a guaranteed traffic rain. However, this social network today is practically dead.

We do not know if the same will happen with Facebook, Twitter and most of the other popular networks. However, you must know that social networks change all the time.

You are NOT the owner of your page on Facebook, Twitter and any other social network. Currently, we are more connected than ever.

  • We enjoyed something? Posted on Facebook.
  • We read an interesting story? Tweet the link on Twitter .
  • We took a picture? Published on Instagram.

However, you need to know that you are NOT the owner of your pages on these social networks. The owner of a fanpage on Facebook is Facebook and the owner of your page on Twitter is Twitter .

  1. They decide how much you can customize your page? Yes.
  2. They tell you what rules to follow? Yes.
  3. They can delete your page without your permission? Yes.

You cannot put all your efforts into one social network that you are not even the owner of. Let's assume that your page on Facebook with 50,000 likes has been deleted or hacked. How will you get all those people back?

And email?

Simple, you always have your mailing list at hand. These are people who have subscribed to your list, that gave you permission to contact them when desired. You are the owner of your mailing list. It is an asset that will only grow with time.

You can export your email list into a spreadsheet and import into another software should your current email software fail.

So the next time you watch someone putting all the chips in a single social network remember to share with that person this article. One day she will thank you.

Speaking of software for email marketing ...

What Is The Best Software For Email Marketing?

Currently I consider only three softwares that are five star: MailChimp (affiliate link), Getresponse and Aweber.

All have their advantages and disadvantages. They all have beautiful interface and are easy to use. Also, there are training videos that will walk you through the steps.

MailChimp offers a Forever Free plan which allows members to have up to 2000 subscribers. Yes, your account is completely free! You will need to upgrade if you have more than 2000 subscribers or send more than 12,000 emails in a month. Upgraded plans start from $10 a month.

I don't know any other software that offers this kind of free service. And if you sign up with my affiliate link, both I and you will win $30 credit to use within MailChimp. # Win-win.

MailChimp-map-of-clicks

One of the curiosities that all digital entrepreneurs have is to know where to position their links and which links are clicked the most.

With MailChimp, analyzing clicks on links is easier than stealing candy from a baby.🙂It goes for everything. Images, links, buttons. Any element that has a link can be traced accurately. Plus, you can still see which subscribers clicked on these links and how often they clicked. A great opportunity to understand who really is interested in your content.

Getrespose offers 30 days Free trial, then $15 monthly for lists not exceeding 1000 subscribers. There are different prices for higher packages.

Conclusion

I took some time to discuss MailChimp because, I believe it is newbie friendly especially with repect to cost. Others mostly offer one month trial period after which your account is deleted if you fail to upgrade. However, someone just starting out with email marketing can sign up and use MailChimp for free. Before one gets 2000 subscribers, the person will naturally be making some cash and be in a position to upgrade.
